Witte Museum Camp is Going Virtual!
The COVID-19 pandemic has given us pause to reimagine how to deliver the Witte Museum’s Summer Camps for 2020. We strive to provide our campers with a safe and transformative experience that encourages lifelong learning. After careful consideration, we have decided to temporarily suspend in-person camps, at least through June, and instead bring Witte Summer Camp to you in an entirely new and exciting way!
Each camper will receive a Witte Box of Wonders, consisting of all of the needed supplies to participate in the various activities and experiments offered that week, as well as some Witte Museum swag! Each day there will be multiple opportunities to virtually connect with our Witte Museum Camp team members, bringing you the exciting content our campers know and love.
We will be offering three different Camp themes over 9 weeks on a rotating schedule. Each week will feature unique activities and learning opportunities, so campers that repeat a theme will still experience a fresh and exciting week. Visit our website for information on all offerings.
At the end of the summer, if regulations allow, we will host a Camp Field Day for campers and their families to come to the Witte, connect with one another and participate in fun and silly activities!
Choosey CHEFs
What does it take to become a chef? In partnership with the San Antonio Botanical Garden, learn to chop, dice and slice as we dive into the world of cooking. From preparing food, to cleaning, to writing recipes, we will explore all the qualities a chef has in the kitchen. Campers will cook their own lunch each day in addition to a variety of other recipes!

Witte Unlocked
Every day is a new adventure at Witte Unlocked camp! Your Witte Box of Wonders will have everything you need to get a closer look at the nature, science and culture that make up your Museum. This camp will have a virtual meet-and-greet with a surprise Witte Museum Curator who will give us a behind-the-scenes look at life at the Witte!

Dino Explorers
Dig deeper into the world of dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures. Your Witte Box of Wonders will have everything you need to transform into a dinosaur expert! Do you have questions about the prehistoric world? This camp will have a virtual meet-and-greet with our Curator of Paleontology and Geology, Dr. Thomas Adams.
