In effort to help keep our community stay safe while continuing to help our youth improve their literacy skills, our Tale for Two program is back. Now that school is back in session let our animals help with learning engagement and any potential learning loss. We have an innovative way for kids to still benefit from reading to nonjudgmental listeners while at home. Kids can now read to a Paws for Love friend, one of our animal ambassadors or shelter animal waiting for adoptions from their living room. Don’t underestimate the power of an animal visit - even if it's over Zoom! This program will benefit all those involved, children can practice their reading in a safe and fun environment and the animals are soothed by the gentle, rhythmic sound of the child’s voice as they read books aloud! Note: There will be limited space available each week for in-person reading sessions at the shelter.
