Stratford Richardson YMCA | What’s happening in Charlotte

Stratford Richardson YMCA

The Stratford Richardson YMCA opened in 2007 to help transform the landscape of Charlotte’s West Boulevard Corridor. The branch has become a hub of activity and continues to build a sense of community in the corridor. The branch is named in memory of two late civil rights activists: Willie J. Stratford, Sr. and Jim Richardson. Both men stood for positive change in Charlotte at a time when schools, parks and other public places were still racially segregated.
