Sheep Shearing at Historic Brattonsville

Sheep served an important purpose on 18th and 19th century farms. We will discuss their unique characteristics and how Brattonsville is working to preserve a very special heritage breed. Each Saturday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., we will explore the different steps involved in processing wool including, shearing sheep, washing the wool, carding and spinning thread, and weaving that thread into cloth. Each Saturday will include sheep shearing at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
