Test your Paleolithic hunting skills (mammoths beware)! In this 2-hour introductory course, step back in time and work with two of the oldest tools known to man, the atlatl and the axe. An ancient dart thrower, the atlatl [aht-laht-l] was used by humans more than 20,000 years ago. Axes have been in use for 1.8 million years...who knows when the first one was thrown. After some basic instruction, practice your aim at targets with both projectiles.
Pre-registration required 3 days before start of program. Dress for the weather and wear closed-toed shoes. This program takes place within our outdoor target sports complex in the woods; travel to the space includes crossing flat paved and gravel paths.
This program is for ages 18 and up.
