Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade - Charlotte Symphony Orchestra

Music Director Kwamé Ryan opens the Classical Series with a work by CSO Spotlight Artist Levi Taylor, whose versatile sound delivers narrative, color, and cinematic energy to the concert hall, reflecting his work across film and concert music. Pianist Orion Weiss lends power and sensitivity to Barber's sweeping Piano Concerto, balancing tempestuous passages with dreamy lyricism and rhythmic drive. Scheherazade closes the program evoking the perilous seas, lavish palaces, and mythical tales of One Thousand and One Nights.
