If you were a hunter during the Stone Age, you probably used an atlatl. Atlatls are primitive tools that would have allowed you to throw your spear harder and farther, enabling you to kill large game, like wooly mammoths. Workshop participants will learn the history of the atlatl, then learn to make spears and throwers using modern and primitive tools. They will end the day with instructions on throwing spears. Instructor and primitive skills expert Doug Meyer will have his large collection of atlatls on display during the workshop.
