Liberty Steeped: A Revolutionary Tea

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 08/02/2025
Join us for an afternoon of tea, conversation, and revolutionary history as we explore the vital—and often overlooked—role of women in the American Revolution. This special program will highlight the Edenton Tea Party of 1774, one of the earliest organized political actions by women in colonial America, and examine how the event influenced women living in the North Carolina Backcountry. Katelynn Hatton, Editor of the North Carolina Colonial Records Project at the NC Office of Archives and History, will present on the bold actions of these patriot women and the broader impact of their resistance. Enjoy tea service, light fare, and a chance to win in our event raffle as we celebrate the spirit of liberty steeped in every cup.
