History returns once again. On August 30 and 31, the Museum grounds will transform for another unforgettable experience: the Battle of Charlotte Reenactment and Living History Weekend. In 1780, Waxhaw was still part of Mecklenburg County—lands that bore witness to the struggle for liberty during some of the Revolution’s most turbulent days. Join us as we honor the past, engage the present, and bring Revolutionary War history vividly back to life.

For years, a powerful annual tradition brought Revolutionary War history to life—first at Latta, then most recently at Rural Hill. Generations have gathered to experience the sights, sounds, and stories of our nation’s fight for independence. But recently, this cherished event was on the verge of being cancelled for 2025.

Refusing to let history fade, the Museum of the Waxhaws—alongside passionate reenactment units and dedicated living historians—rallied together to keep it alive. Because history isn't just what we remember—it's what we preserve, share, and pass on.
