87 Sound Academy

87 Sound Academy provides structured online music production education for students ages 12–19. Founded by professional music producer and audio engineer Jason Vaughn, the Academy offers separate Creative and Technical pathways that help students develop both artistic confidence and a practical understanding of sound. Through progressive course levels, students learn to create original music, arrange ideas, work effectively inside a DAW, understand signal flow, and make intentional production and mixing decisions.

Programs are available through live small-group classes, self-paced courses, individual instruction, homeschool co-op programs, and project-based workshops. The Academy also provides student workbooks, DAW learning resources, and free monthly Producer Jam sessions where young creators can collaborate and make music together. Each program is beginner-friendly while providing a clear path for progression, making the Academy suitable for students at different experience levels who want to continue developing their creative and technical skills.

I’m Jason Vaughn, a professional music producer and audio engineer and the founder of 87 Sound Academy.
